Beginning, Middle, and Ending sounds.  Knowing sounds can help us spell words. *

Spelling Tests will be given every Friday from Power word list.    We will have five Power Words a week.  Power Words will be given on Sunday in the Newsletter.  Homework assigned will also be related to the Power Words.  Math homework will be given on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Math homework will be similar to what we have done in class on those two days.  If extra help is needed, please reach out to us as we will do the same.  

Nut Allergies:  To ensure the safety and well-being, we are implementing some guidelines regarding food brought into the classroom:  When packing snacks or lunches, we kindly ask that you carefully label on your child's snack or lunch "Peanuts".    

Classroom Celebration:  For birthdays and other celebrations, please coordinate with the teacher to ensure that any treats brought into the class are safe for all students.  All items brought into class must be store bought.

Birthday Celebrations:  As it is a happy time for your child's birthday, there are certain reminders that we must addressed.  Parents cannot attend birthday celebrations but may bring items for their child to enjoy.  We do ask that no balloons, presents are sent in.   In the past, we have had chick-fila, pizza, chips, juice box, cookies, cupcakes, plates, cup brought in.  If unsure on how to celebrate your child's special day, please ask.  All items bought into the classroom for any celebrations must be store bought. 

We love Parent Volunteers, and we strongly encourage parents to come and share with the class.  We will keep you updated on our first Parent Volunteer.  *You must be an approved Parent Volunteer from Durham Public Schools*   Please send a copy of your approved volunteer forms to Ms. Torian or Ms. Holeman.*
